Nappy Guide
Modern real nappies are stylish, cost effective, absorbent and reduce your waste. There are many patterns, materials and colours to choose from which can seem quite confusing. To help you decide which ones are best for you they fall under 4 main styles:
Two-part Flat Nappy
Choose from a Terry towelling or prefold nappy.
-
Cheapest option.
Quick Drying.
Very Versatile.
The prefold is placed into a waterproof cover.
The terry will need to be folded and fastened (with a pin or modern grip) and a waterproof cover placed over the top.
Two-part Sha
ped Nappy
Already shaped to fit (no folding required).
In built padding absorbs moisture.
Usually fastens with poppers, fabric fasteners or modern grips.
A waterproof cover (Wrap) is required.
The pocket is usually made from a non-absorbent stay dry layer (which keeps baby's skin dry).
A prefold, or special nappy insert is placed inside a pocket to soak up moisture.
Ideal for night-time use.
- The nappy and outercover/wrap are separated for quicker drying.
A
ll-in-one Nappy
Simple to use, ideal for child carers and wriggly babies.
Made from highly absorbent material stitched to a waterproof outer cover.
You may need to purchase a few more nappies to allow for extra drying time as the cover and the nappy cannot be separated.
